Good to know
Is it really free?
Yes — and it always will be. Every self-paced course is free forever: the lessons, quizzes, practice sheets, NAPLAN-style tests and certificates. No ads, and we never sell your data. You just need an Avro Academy account so we can save your progress. Read our promise.
Does it follow what we learn at school?
Yes. Year 7 Maths covers every part of Level 7 of the Victorian Curriculum Mathematics Version 2.0, and each lesson lists the curriculum it covers. Schools teach topics in different orders, so jump to whatever you're doing in class.
Do I have to do the topics in order?
No. Start with whatever you're doing at school. Each topic is its own course with a certificate, and finishing all seven courses earns the Year 7 Maths pathway certificate.
What do I need?
A pencil, paper and a ruler, and a calculator for some lessons (the one on a phone or computer is fine). The printable practice sheets and formula sheet are attached to the lessons.
Can a parent set up the account?
Yes — parents are welcome to create the account and learn alongside their child. It's a good way to see what's being covered and help with practice.
Which subjects and year levels are next?
Year 8 Maths, primary maths (Years 3 to 6) and study skills are being prepared. New courses appear on this page as soon as they're ready.
Ready to give it a go?
Start with the first lesson — it takes about 20 minutes.
Our school courses follow the Victorian Curriculum F–10 Version 2.0 but are not made or endorsed by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) or the Department of Education. Always check with your school about what you're covering and when.
