Welcome: why confidence matters more than perfect English

You don't need perfect English. You need confident English.

Employers rarely hire the person with the most perfect grammar. They hire the person who communicates clearly, listens well and seems easy to work with. That's what this course is about.

Think about the people you find easy to talk to. They probably:

  • Speak at a comfortable pace
  • Look at you when they talk
  • Aren't afraid to ask when they don't understand
  • Keep it simple

None of those things need advanced English. All of them can be learned.

How this course works

Each lesson gives you three things:

  1. A phrase bank — sentences you can copy and use straight away
  2. An example — a short dialogue showing the phrases in action
  3. A speaking task — something to say out loud and, ideally, record
Reading about speaking won't make you a better speaker — speaking will. Every lesson has a task. Do it out loud, even if it feels strange at first.

Why record yourself?

Hearing your own voice can feel awkward, but it's the fastest way to improve. You'll notice things you can't hear while you're talking — rushing, mumbling, or saying "like" ten times. Use your phone's voice memo or camera app. Nobody else needs to hear it.

Your first task

Open your phone's recorder and say, in your own words: "Hi, I'm [name]. I'm doing this course because…" Keep it to about 30 seconds. Save it — you'll listen back to it at the end of the course and hear how far you've come.
